At by KlipKlap, we are aware of our social responsibility as a company. We care about people and the environment, and bearing that in mind, we constantly attempt to minimize our negative impact on the world around us.

For us, it is important to produce and sell sustainable products that our clients can enjoy for many years to come. Thus, our furniture is a combination of timeless design, high quality and great functionality – all three of which we have applied on all points in the process without compromise.

We wish to make furniture for both children and adults which provides a direct alternative to the “throwaway culture” that marks our society and consumption habits today. Therefore, our mattresses have been designed to work as multipurpose furniture with at least five different applications. The different applications fulfill a variety of practical needs that may render any further purchase of furniture, mattresses or play equipment unnecessary.

At by KlipKlap, we have made some highly conscious choices in our product line. This means that all our products are developed and produced in cooperation with carefully selected subcontractors. Within their respective fields, several of them are market leaders in sustainable and responsible product development and production and are highly recognized in the business. All our furniture and cushions are produced, upholstered and sewn in proper working conditions that are in full agreement with our social and environmental values – with our considerations for people and the environment.

When you choose a piece of furniture from by KlipKlap, we have already made a number of decisions that all contribute to allowing children to play and romp safely in a high quality product.

All our products comply with the European chemicals regulation (REACH) which has been made to secure high levels of health and environmental protection.

In addition, we have taken it one step further. All of our kids furniture textiles are certified according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and fulfill additional and stricter requirements than REACH. We are continually working on using more textiles which are certified according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and produced from recycled materials, but without ever compromising on wearability, durability and design.

All foam used in our furniture is certified according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 which means that it has been produced without the use of prohibited chemicals. In new foam furniture, there may be a slight “foam smell” in the beginning which will disappear quickly, and which also does not constitute any health risk or danger.

  • Flame retardant is not used in our furniture fabric or foam.
  • Formaldehyde is not used in our furniture fabric or foam.

All our furniture are produced in Europe in factories that live up to a number of strict requirements for quality control, working conditions and eco-friendly production. All upholstery furniture are produced in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified factories. These certifications share similarities with for example the EU Ecolabel (the “EU Flower”) and the Nordic Swan Ecolabel (“Svanemærket”).

The wood used in our wooden collection is certified under the FSC system. This is a guarantee that it originates from forests that are managed sustainably with due consideration for people, wild life and nature.
